Hello! I’m Kat, a transgender girl known online as Kat3Approach. I am a Hongkonger currently residing in the Mainland city of Beijing but I’ve also previously lived in Xuzhou, Shenzhen and Haikou. My first languages are English and Mandarin and I struggle when speaking Cantonese.
A hobbyist translator of some sorts, I am a former member of the Chinese localization team for the Hearts of Iron 4 mod The New Order: Last Days of Europe but left due to time constraints on my personal life back in 2023. I have contributed, in a fairly small amout, to translating the content of patch v.1.4.0 “Silicon Dreams”.
As a MUN enthusiast, you can expect to see me in many English-based MUN events all over China as a delegate in the Security Council, Historical Security Council or a media correspondent. At the time of publishing this page, I am aware that I will be present in DIMUN 2026 as a SC delegate, BEIMUN 2026 as a media team member and HKMUN 2026 as a delegate.
Previously an active member of the Chinese Vocaloid music community, I have produced and co-produced songs of many sorts. In the recent years, I have produced less songs and took on a more multimedia inclined role as I started a docuseries project back in early 2025, interviewing influential figures in the Vocaloid and the music industry as a whole.
I have a deep intrest in transportation as I travel a lot due to family matters and personal projects. I have been to every provincial-level administrative division of China, except Tibet as Hongkongers need to accquire permission to enter. Internationally, I have travelled to 12 states not counting China, those claimed by China and those that I went for transit purposes. I currently hold a Star Alliance Phoenix Miles Gold status issued by Air China and an IHG One Rewands Platnium membership.
Self-proclaiming to be a tech professional, I have ran a PC building and customizing service since 2022, taking commissions from both individual buyers and businesses. I’m also interested in ham radios, home and business networking, data hoarding and audio engineering.
As a media enthusiast who dreams of becoming a journalist and documentary filmmaker, I have had past experience working in the Chinese short film industry, interning as a photography assistant for TVCs. My personal projects include the aforementioned docuseries, some short films i made during middle school and photography projects featuring portaits, birds, planes and cityscapes. For these purposes, I use modern cinema cameras like the Sony FX30, mirrorless cameras such as the Canon R8 and 35mm film cameras like the Canon EOS300.
